  7. InfoSys unveils its medical product, MedSys, now available on SCO UNIX.  This
  8. new product is a comprehensive and dependable system that links all the
  9. elements of health care delivery, significantly reduces costs, halves the
  10. amount of time providers spend on administration, and improves the quality of
  11. patient care without the paper shuffle of traditional practice management
  12. systems.  MedSys offers the flexibility to adapt to any health care reforms,
  13. while maintaining the power to take advantage of new technologies like imaging
  14. and handheld portable devices for nurses.
  15. MedSys is written in C.  The billing module can stand alone and/or it
  16. interfaces with several major accounting packages, allowing the user to add
  17. MedSys as an enhancement to his/her current accounting system.  While the
  18. module is easy to use, the information entered on the patient, guarantor,
  19. insurance, and employment screens is essential to generating thorough,
  20. detailed reports and error-free statements and claims.  Included in this
  21. billing module is an extensive Accounts Receivable Report program.  Most of
  22. the reports in this section can be sorted to provide specific and accurate
  23. information.
  24. The MedSys Scheduling Module will make those large appointment books and
  25. inferior scheduling programs obsolete.  MedSys is prepared as the future of
  26. electronic claim processing and electronic data interchange (EDI) is upon us.
